I took advice from one of my favourite quotes recently and stayed positive in what could have seemed a hopeless situation. It can be difficult sometimes to ignore an oncoming storm, but chances are if you look hard enough, there’s sunlight on the horizon.

Basically, I ran out of money. And I don’t mean just for luxuries, like I couldn’t afford to get my hair done this month. I mean I couldn’t go food shopping or pay the rent. It’s a scary situation.
I know many of my creative friends will empathise with this experience, as often with freelance work you can go from feast to famine in a matter of months. It is both an exciting and unpredictable path to take.
And London is not the place to live if you don’t know when your next pay cheque is due!
However, in the words of the great Paolo Nutini:
“I got food in my belly and a
license for my telly,And nothing’s gonna bring me down”
Things could be a lot worse and despite my financial worries, I realised I have a great deal to be thankful for. So instead of feeling sorry for myself, I put all creative projects on hold and invested all my energy into earning money at my ‘day-job’.
After speaking to a close friend of my fear I couldn’t afford to continue my Yoga Teacher Training, they suggested that I try asking for help. I wasn’t convinced that anyone would be interested, but after making a crowd-funding page on GoFundMe, I was able to raise the money I need to continue my training in just ONE WEEK!
I have been completely blown away by the kindness and unwavering support shown by those who liked, shared and donated to my campaign. Thank you for believing in me.
This experience has brought me so much positivity and given me extra motivation to become the best teacher I can possibly be. I will continue to follow the advice of the sunflowers and keep my face towards the sunshine, no matter the weather forecast.

After just a week, I have reached my target and raised the money I need to continue my yoga teacher training.
Thank you to everyone who liked, shared or donated to this cause. I couldn’t have done this without your kindness and generosity.
I am truly humbled by the positive response to my campaign and am determined to do you all proud and become the best teacher I can possibly be!
For those who would like to attend a free ‘Thank You’ class in London towards the end of the summer; I will be in touch with details in the coming months.
If you’d like to keep updated with my training progress, you can follow by blog at www.sunfloweryoga.live for weekly updates and articles.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your positivity and support. I hope to see some of you at a class very soon!
Namaste, Clare xxx
